Bath IFG meets its Patron The Lord Lieutenant Mohammed Saddiq
Bath Inter Faith Group (IFG) welcomed the Lord Lieutenant to a reflective meeting held recently at Bath Mosque. Representatives from across the membership took part in a thoughtful conversation reviewing the past year and considering priorities for the future.
We welcomed the wider context of His Majesty King Charles’ continued leadership that promotes interfaith understanding and care for the environment.
The meeting highlighted the growing diversity and engagement within Bath IFG, the depth of dialogue being developed across difference, and the growing value of partnerships with universities, civic bodies, and community organisations. The importance of careful listening, respectful disagreement, and education particularly among young people featured strongly in the discussion.
The Lord Lieutenant encouraged Bath IFG to remain attentive to the relational and long-term nature of interfaith work, noting that depth of engagement is often as important as scale. The group was grateful for the opportunity to reflect openly and looks forward to continuing its work of fostering understanding, trust, and collaboration across Bath and the wider area.
